Nevada
Nevada is awesome. I love it. It’s absurdly vast, and there’s nothing there. We have crossed the entire state in 2 drives, and are now in Utah.
It’s still snowy so it wasn’t the imagined red and browns but white, white and more white. Again the roads got a little scary when very snowy, but much clearer than the Lake Tahoe area was.
We stayed in a town called Tonopah, which apparently has the clearest starry night views in the whole of the US thanks to its distance from any large towns. Unfortunately not seen by us as, yes, you guessed it, still snowing!
Today we drove down the Extraterrestrial Highway (route 375, not aka – actually renamed) – no sightings to report. We did see the ridiculously large Government test areas – bunkers as far as the eye could see – hundreds.
We also drove through a ‘town’ called Rachel! Absolute dump – everyone lived in trailers within eyesight of the one bar, the Ale-inn, get it?!
Tomorrow we are going to Bryce Canyon – now we are recovered it is time to knacker ourselves with a days trek again.

Hey, I’ve been to Bryce Canyon. Stayed at Ruby’s Inn, which was nice.
Bryce Canyon is WAY better than the Grand Canyon. Loads of ‘hoodies’ (or something like that!!). We spent a couple of days doing treks round it!!

Hoodoos are those stack things – but I much prefer your name.
We did a walk from Sunrise to Sunset point which was only 2 and half miles but wading through thick snow was blooming hard going!
You will see from pics – I am very well wrapped! Do you like my Nepalese hat?! Do you remember when we took the mickey out of Amo all week for having one in Prague?!
Wow those views are stunning! the snow looks pristine , I bet it made a lovely sound underfoot. I really love the hat and I want to know why matt isnt wearing one also. Glad to note that Paddington has his coat buttoned up . brrrrrrrrr. Keep the fots coming. The xmas tree is up!! looks cool. I did shed a few tears doing it I have to say (the first since you guys left I hasten to add!! I will take a photo and e mail it to you. I only needed to buy one packet of chocolate decorations for the tree matt ! xxx

Its me again, – Mum. Just been looking at the webcam of Denver, the Civic Centre or something. Doesnt look as there is too much snow in the centre of town and the weather looks as if it is going to be a bit warmer. Have you found anything of interest to do in that area? Shame about shaving off the beard, would have kept your face warm when you are on the piste! PISTE I said!

Rachel is more than what the eye can behold. You have to partake of the folks at the Little A’Le’Inn which I hope you take the time to do.
When you live so far away from the main stay of towns like Las Vegas what would you expect people to use for a low maintenance housing? There are a few houses in the area if you look closely. It really is not too bad a place to live, especially if you want away from the main hassles of the fast paced world.
